Festive party dresses

December has arrived and Christmas is not far behind! Christmas and New Years Eve are both the perfect excuses to treat yourself to a pretty little dress for that Christmas party with work, family or even for that night out with the girls, whatever you’re celebrating during these festive months, you definitely won’t be short of choices for festive inspired dresses! Whether its sparkles, sequins, velvet or a classy LBD (little black dress) you’re looking for, there is something for everyone to feel extra special this Christmas and New Year. I have picked out a few dresses I think are perfect for this time of year, so take a look, I hope you like them as much as I do.

1.

JARON PU SLEEVE TARTAN BABY DOLL DRESS IN RED from http://www.daisystreet.co.uk/. As  you probably have noticed, Tartan is very on trend at the moment. I personally love it, there’s something so wintry and festive about it and the colour is perfect for Christmas. Skater dresses are one of my favourite styles, I think they are so flattering, they show off your waist then skim over your tummy and hips! This dress also has leather look sleeves which is a nice added touch making it a little bit different and again very on trend as leather look items are everywhere at the moment. I like that this dress could be worn casual in the day with a leather jacket, tights, boots and a scarf, Or could be dressed up by adding some heels, winged eye liner and red lipstick for an extra festive touch.

2.

Helen Tinsel Double Layer Dress from http://www.boohoo.com/. The name of this dress says it all ‘tinsel’ this dress is perfect for Christmas, it so sparkly and pretty, but not sequins, which can sometimes be hard to take care of and difficult to know how to wash! I really love the style of this dress as its something a bit different to your standard body con dress, it has a mesh bit between the top and bottom, making it look like a skirt and a top! Not only would this dress be perfect to wear to any special occasion this Christmas but its a pretty classic piece that can be worn all year round to any event.

3.

Hatsumia Sequin Swirl Shift Dress In Gold from http://www.missguided.co.uk/. When Christmas is round the corner, I suddenly notice lots sequined dresses and it seems like the perfect time to get away with an extra sparkly dress! This dress is covered in sequins and has so much detail to it, I think the swirly pattern is unusual and the gold is really different and festive!

4.

Lipsy Lace Yoke Bodycon Dress from http://www.lipsy.co.uk/. This dress is a very classy LBD, with long lace sleeves, which is always nice to have when its a bit chilly out or you don’t like to get your arms out a lot! It has what Lipsy describes as yoke with embellished yoke detail, to me it looks like a baroque kind of pattern covering the lady area, with some sequin embellishment on some of the pattern, click the link above to see up close pictures that will most likely be better than my description! I think this dress is very simple yet sexy and such a staple that you can wear all year round, so although it’s not the cheapest you will definitely get your moneys worth out of it!

5.

ASOS Reclaimed Vintage ’20s Velvet Mini Dress with Crochet Collar from http://www.asos.com. I love this dress, I think it is so cute, the colour is such a beautiful red and perfect for Christmas. I think velvet is so wintry and cosy, which is why I wanted to include a velvet dress! It’s looks really vintage like the name suggests and I love the little crochet collar, as I do love a good collar on clothing, its such a cute touch! I think this dress could be really casual, worn with a pair of tights, boots or cute dolly shoes, a hat and a chunky knit cardigan, or dressed up with a pair of heels, leather jacket, winged eye liner and red lip stick!
