What To Wear – First Date

Not only are first dates nerve-racking in general, but then you also have the worry of what you’re going to wear, I have put together two outfits I think are perfect for first dates. What you’re going to wear depends on where your going so I’ve got a casual choice and a more dressy evening choice, hope you like them as much as I do.

First Date - Casual

For the casual option I wanted to keep it comfortable and not too try hard, but still so it looks well put together and cute. I chose the Joni Jeans from Topshop for the bottom half, their super comfy jeans with plenty of stretch, if your already going to be a bit nervous the last thing you is want to feel uncomfortable in what you’re wearing.

For the top half I have chosen a really cute daisy print collared top, I think this top is not only really cute but also really smart yet casual at the same time. For a jacket I picked a really nice leather look one with a removable fur collar, this is in the Sale at the moment so you better hurry if you like this.  Leather jackets look nice with anything, they are such a staple and I think paired with the quite girly daisy top it toughens the outfit up a bit, giving it a more edgy feel.

Black chelsea boots with a small heel are a must during this time of year, they go with everything, they can be dressed up and in this case dressed down, I don’t think these are too badly priced and there quite chunky also adding a little edge to the outfit along with the leather jacket.

Last but not least, a girls got to have a handbag, I love satchel style bags and this one has scalloped edges, making it a bit different and adding a cute and girly touch, last but not least add a pop of colour on your lips or nails and your good to go!

 First Date - Dressy

For the more dressy outfit, I wanted to leave a bit to the imagination but still have a bit of sexiness to it. This skirt is right up my street, I love skater style skirts, they bring you in at the waist and skim over your hips. I wanted to make sure I picked something that would flatter a slim figure and a curvy figure and I think this would. I love a good floral print and what I like about this one is that its monochrome making it a bit more classy and sophisticated.

For the top half I chose a black 3/4 sleeve bodysuit, I’ve never tried wearing one of these but I think there really good with high-waisted things as they stay put and you don’t have that struggle of trying to tuck your top in, is it just me or can that be quite uncomfortable? I like the scooped neck line on this one, I think it’s really flattering but not too revealing for a first date, got to leave a little something to the imagination and all that jazz, but this can easily be switched for a normal top of your choice.

For shoes I picked some classic black heels, I like how simple they are with just a strap across the foot and around the ankle, this kind of heel can be really sexy and flattering on the foot, especially with a splash of colour on your toes! For a more dressy occasion I like a clutch bag that you can just slip under your arm as I think this brings the whole look together, rather than a bag over your shoulder. I like how simple this clutch bag is and I think it looks more expensive than it is, also I like that it has a zip, a lot of clutch bags just have an envelope flap which isn’t very secure.

For the necklace I wanted to make it quite a statement piece as I kept the rest of the outfit quite simple, this necklace is a multi row chain with studs dangling of one of the chains and its mix metals making it very versatile. Again I think because this outfit is so monochrome you can play around with bright colours on your lips and nails!
