1. Benefit Hoola Bronzer

I’ve never been much of a bronzer girl, I always contour to slim my chubby cheeks down but It’s just not something I’ve ever felt like buying a high-end version of. It’s a lovely colour, not too orange but not to brown toned. Whether you’re a bronzer girl, contour girl or both, this is perfect for all.

2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

If you haven’t heard of this concealer yet, then you’re clearly not a blog reader or avid YouTube watcher like me. It’s probably one of the most talked about drugstore concealers ever. I stopped using this for a while and I don’t know why, It gives such good coverage and not only that its super affordable. I don’t use this under my eyes because I think it’s a bit too heavy for such a delicate area. Why spend out when you can find such an amazing drugstore concealer.

3. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder

Another very talked about product on blogs and Youtube. This is a lovely drugstore powder, I have the shade ‘Sandstorm’ which is perfect for me. This powder can look really natural on the skin, it gives you a little coverage, is super affordable and sets your make up in place. Job well done.

4. L’Oreal Lumi Magique Concealer

Another amazing drugstore product. This is my favourite under eye concealer at the moment, It’s not too heavy for the delicate under eye area,  gives coverage and highlights. This can also be used to highlight cheek bones, brow bones and the cupids bow.

5. Mac Mebla Blush

This is my go to blusher. Its one of MACs very well-known blushes and I can see why. I think it’s a shade that would suit many skin tones, it’s a soft coral peach. It’s such a wearable shade and gives you a warm peachy complexion to your cheeks.

1. Maybelline Falsies Mascara

This is one of my favourite drugstore mascaras ever. It’s so easy to work with, you don’t have to apply layers and layers to get full long lashes. Two coats and my lashes have a lot of volume and length. I can’t speak highly enough about this mascara, try it!

2. & 4. Max Factor Excess Shimmer Eyeshadow

photo 3 (17)

The thing that I was most drawn to about these eyeshadows where the fact they reminded me of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Eyeshadows, not only that but these two gorgeous shades Bronze and Copper. They are a strange mousse-like creamy consistency and I love these used all over the eyelid paired with other shadows in the crease or used together. I have noticed some creasing after a long time wearing these alone on the eye lid, but all in all I really do love the shades and look of these on the eyes.

3. MAC Quad & Eyeshadows

photo 2 (21)

From left to right, Shroom, Woodwinked, Wedge and Swiss Chocolate.

These are my first ever eyeshadows by MAC and I love creating looks with this quad. MAC describes shroom as a soft beige with shimmer, woodwinked as a warm antiqued gold, Wedge as a soft muted beige taupe and Swiss Chocolate as a muted reddish-brown. They all work together so well to create different looks, from day time natural looks to smokey looks. Although, I’m really unimpressed with Wedge, getting the swatch above was nearly impossible, I’m not sure if I just got a dodgy one.

1. & 2. MAC Lip Pencil (Stripdown) & MAC Lipstick (Honey Love)

This has been currently favourite nude lip pencil and lipstick combo. In the picture above Stripdown looks a lot browner than it is and it looks very different on the lips. MAC describes Stripdown lip pencil as a creamy brown-beige, and Honey Love lipstick as a matte light beige tone with rose. It’s a very different shade nude to what I’ve had before as its more beige toned rather peachy toned, but it’s really grown on me and it’s quite moisturising for a matte lipstick.

2. Nuxe Reve De Miel Lipbalm

This is my all time favourite lip balm. Its one of the best lip balms you will ever try, it is a pricey £9.50 but I think it’s worth every penny. I apply this once before I do my makeup and once before bed and I never need to re apply it through out the day, unless my lips are particularly dry. I find some lip balms are moisturising whilst sitting on your lips, but once its worn off you need to re apply it. This is a thick, citrus scented and extremely hydrating lip balm. If you have chapped lips, this is your new best friend, you wont regret it.

3. MAC Lipstick (Crosswires)

Crosswires and Honey Love have both been my go to lipsticks in the month of February and I don’t see that changing any time soon. MAC describes this as a clean pinky orange. The formula of this is a creme sheen, which is MACS creamiest and most moisturising formula, which is why this lipstick is so comfortable to wear. It’s the perfect in-between bright and nude shade. Perfect for everyday wear.

Top 5 Spring/Summer Nail Polishes

During the spring and summer I especially enjoy painting my finger and toe nails in pretty, vibrant and colourful shades. I love seeing other people’s favourite season appropriate nail polish blog post’s or youtube videos, to get inspiration and find new nail polish colours (because I clearly don’t have enough)! So I thought I would share some of my current favourite spring/summer shades. Let me tell you it was tough choosing these, I am terrible at making decisions but I narrowed it down to these.

Barry M, Gelly Hi Shine, Nail Paint, Light Blue

This shade of blue is such a lovely colour. Its not as bright as it is in the picture, It’s a powdery light pastel blue and it’s a really unique shade. I love having this on my nails in the spring/summer its bright and colourful but also fits in with pastel trend. I always get compliments on how lovely this colour looks not only in the bottle but on my nails! Barry M  is probably my all time favourite drug store nail polish brands. They apply nicely, last a good amount of time on your nails, have an amazing range of shades and there really affordable.

Essie, Fiji

This is quite a talked Essie nail polish shade within the blogging and YouTube community. It’s a lovely pale almost white pink. If you’re not keen on rocking the white nails look, then this is a lovely colour to go with. Essie are a more expensive nail polish brand within the drug store and I’m not entirely sure the formula is my favourite. I haven’t used this in a while but last time I did it chipped very quickly. I do however like the wide brushes it makes it very easy to apply your nail polish with. I am looking forward to trying this again during these warmer months, it’s a lovely understated nail colour.

I won’t talk about this too much as I mentioned it in my April Birchbox Review which you can find HERE. I couldn’t decide if I wanted this to be in my top 5 or not but I decided it should be. I love the colour, its a lot greener in real life rather than the pictures. It’s just a lovely pearlescent mint green and it lasts so well on my nails! Check out my Instagram to see a picture of this on my nails.

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel, Apricot Nector

This is definitely my second favourite in my top five. This colour is beautiful and is such a summer appropriate colour and will look amazing with a tan. Its a lovely muted peachy orange and it also smells like apricots, I don’t think its quite as orange as it looks in picture its paler and peachier! I bought it for the colour but the scent is also quite pleasant, and I like the formula of these nail polishes, plus the bottles are really cute! I’ve not seen a colour like this and it looks just as bright as it does in the bottle on your nails without being gaudy. I like it a lot, Check out my Instagram to see a picture of this on my nails!

Barry M, Gelly Hi Shine, Nail Paint, Sugared Apple

This my friends is definitely number 1 on my Top 5. I am in love with this nail polish, when I first bought this I would re apply it every time I re done my nails, that’s how much I loved seeing it on my nails! I have never seen a nail polish this shade, its a beautiful turquoise blue very reminiscent of the Tiffany Co packaging! I’ve seen lots of blues and mint greens but no turquoise shades. I love how vibrant this is on the nails and the fact it’s by my favourite nail polish brand makes it even better. This colour is perfect for spring/summer, I cannot recommend it enough. Go look at it, buy it, try it on your nails and try to tell me you don’t love it!! Again check out my Instagram t see this on my nails!

So these are just a few of my favourite spring/summer nail colours, I also love corals, lilacs and many more! Let me know in the comments if you have and love any of the nail polishes I have mentioned, also let me know some of your favourite spring/summer nail polishes that you think I should try!

Current Music Favourites.

I literally don’t know what I would do without music, life would be so boring. I love how many emotions a song can make you feel, whether it’s a sad song, love song or feel good song or that song that makes you feel all of the above. My favourite genres of music are Acoustic, Alternative, Indie, Pop and Rock. I am always looking for new bands and singers to listen too, so  I thought I would share with you, my current music favourites in the hope you will enjoy them as much as I do, or share with me some of your favourites.

A girl I recently discovered is Lauren Aquilina, I don’t think she’s very well-known yet but she will be, she is amazing. Her voice is beautiful, one in particular I really like to belt out alone in my room  is ‘Fools’, I’d say her music is pop but with a slight edge on it, which is probably why I like it. She has two albums one called ‘Sinners’ and another called ‘Fools’.

This is a bit of a golden oldie, Dexys Midnight Runners – Come On Eileen. I have always known this song but it was a bit before my time, I heard this more recently on the film ‘The Perks Of Being A Wallflower’ and I love it, I cannot stop playing it, its such a feel good song and it makes me want to sing and dance around the house. I would properly class the genre of this song as a bit Alternative.

mzi.sdlzbzkz.170x170-75I found this next song from the film ‘The First Time’ and I instantly  had to shazam it (an app that listen to songs and tells you who the song is by) I think it’s a really easy listening song, not depressing and sad, but not super happy, but I still think it’s a feel good song as its like a happy love song.  There a brother and sister duo and  their called ‘The Belle Brigade’ and this song is called ‘Sweet Louise’, iTunes describes them as Alternative.

48bf8d4b6f1216a67e1a3c7de30e5f52This next small group are called ‘Meadowlark’ it has 2 boys and a female lead singer. I saw them play live when they we’re supporting Gabrielle Applin and I’d never heard of them but they we’re so so good live. I really wish I had bought a CD as they don’t sale them online yet and there songs aren’t on Spotify or iTunes, so for now its YouTube or Soundcloud, I’d say there quite Alternative and folk sounding.  They aren’t very well-known at all yet, so give them a listen, I love all there songs ‘Forlorn’ ‘Family Tree’ and ‘I’ve got you’!

5099973971856_1500x1500_300dpi.170x170-75 (1)

I can’t not include Gabrielle Applin, she’s like an all time favourite of mine, I used to be obsessed with her song ‘Home’ before she was even famous and well-known. I saw her live in November and she is so talented, I think she’s flawless, I cannot fault any of her songs, which is why I’m not recommending a particular song because the whole album is amazing and you should definitely check her out. The album is called ‘English Rain’, and I’d say she is pop, but with an Alternative edge!

I have really been enjoying ‘The 1975’ at the moment, there songs are so catchy, especially the song ‘Chocolate’. I can’t pick a favourite song so just check out there album which is called ‘The 1975’, I think their music is Indie Rock/Alternative.

Bit of a random mixture there,  I could make a list as long as my arm but I think you guys might get a bit bored, I have song all time favourite singers and bands I listen too but this is just a few of the less well-known songs and albums I like a lot. Seems like Alternative and pop is what I am enjoying most at the moment. Wasn’t sure if this post was worth doing or not, so let me know if its something you would like to see every now and then!

December Beauty Favourites.

Here are some of the my beauty favourites from December, hope you all had a lovely December, Happy New Year! ♥

Bourjois Paris Intense Smoky Eyeshadow & Liner

This month I have been loving this trio, the name of it is ‘Rose Twiste’ and the colours are perfect winter shades. The lighter shade is a pinky, champagne colour, which I have just been applying all over the eye lid, then I go in with the darker colour which is a lovely almost burgundy colour and apply this through the crease of my eye. It’s not as scary as it sounds I promise and if the colours are a bit too red or you want to tone it down a bit then just run a nice brown shade through your crease over the top! I was pleasantly surprised with the eye liner in this too, it looked a bit dry in the palette as if it was going to be hard to apply, but it’s not, it’s really easy to work with, I use a small angled brush to apply it along my lash line and finish of with a little flick on the outer corner of my eyes. It goes lovely with the two eye shadow colours, the colour is like the darker eye shadow shade only deeper, less red and more brown.

 Bourjois Paris Chocolate Bronzer

I ran out of the contour colour in my Sleek contour kit and thought I would try something new to contour my chubby cheeks with! I had heard a lot of good things about this bronzer so I thought I’d give it a go. The colour is subtle enough to contour my cheeks without looking orange,It’s a really nice matte finish, it says on the packaging ‘filled with glints of sunshine’ but I wouldn’t say it was shimmery at all, maybe slightly under the light.  I have been applying this with my Real Techniques Blush brush, I find its tapered enough to get into my cheek bones, and fluffy enough to blend out the bronzer leaving a nice natural contour and colour to my face.

HD Brows Blusher

I received this in a Glossybox a while ago, and I had heard a lot of good things about HD brows and their eyebrow palettes. I didn’t know they made a few other products as well, so I was pretty excited to try this blusher out. It’s a lovely colour, just the right amount of pink with peachy tones and gold shimmer running through it. When I first saw this it reminded me a lot of The NARS Orgasm blush, which I have wanted to try forever, I have just been applying this to the apples of my cheeks with my Real Techniques Blush Brush, to give myself a nice flushed glow on my cheeks.

bareMinerals Deluxe Original SPF 15 Foundation  in the shade Fairly Light

I was lucky enough to receive this bareMinerals foundation for Christmas this year, I’ve had this foundation before and I loved it then too. This is the biggest pot they do, with a crystal style lid, which can I just say, I love the packaging its much nicer than the normal pots of bareMinerals! I have a feeling you can only buy the Deluxe foundation of QVC as that’s where my mum got it. This foundation does not leave my skin feeling heavy or powdery, it goes on so nice leaving my skin looking flawless, it has good coverage for a powder foundation and it’s so light it feels as if you’re not even wearing foundation. If you have trouble with your foundation wearing off through the day or oily skin, I would really recommended this as its very mattifying and doesn’t leave you feeling like your foundation is sliding around on your skin.

 Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Liner

I have tried lots of liquid eye liners and this is probably my favourite drug store one I’ve tried so far.  I need an eye liner that’s going to stay put as I am not the most careful person when it comes to making sure I don’t touch my face and eyes during the day and I think this eye liner is pretty good at staying put through out the day. It’s easy to apply and it’s a really good black, which sounds strange but there’s nothing worse than a liquid eye liner that doesn’t come out very dark and is almost like a watery grey colour. The other thing I like about this eye liner is it doesn’t stop working half way through applying it, I have found with a lot of other eye liners I spend the majority of the time shaking it trying to get it to start working again, when its a nearly new eye liner.

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer

I bought the colour Big Bang especially to wear on Christmas day, I hadn’t tried the Rimmel Lip Laquers until this one and I really like it. It’s like a combination of a lip stain, lip gloss and lipstick, it’s so pigmented and feels really glossy on the lips. I think the lasting power of this is quite good once its dried a little, when just applied be careful as it’s really easy to smudge it.

Chella Ivory Lacey Highlighter Pencil

I haven’t heard much about this brand but I received this in a Birchbox not too long ago. You can use this as an eyeliner on your waterline to really open up your eyes, which is what I have been doing. It has many uses though, such as applying to your brow bone, down the centre of your nose, on your cupids bow and applied around the lips to prevent lipstick bleed. I’m not sure how well this product stays on my waterline, but I really like the effect it gives and how much it opens up your eyes making them look more awake.

Nail Rock Glitter Red

I thought I would include this in my favourites as this is pretty much what I wore everyday during the Christmas period. I won’t go on about this as I have written a post on it already, so if you would to find out more about this nail product you can find that HERE.

Let me know what your favourites have been for the month of December?
